This prayer mat is inspired by a very special place — a place where stories of faith, beauty, and devotion all come together. A place where millions of hearts have turned to Allah in prayer. It is called Hagia Sophia, or in Turkish, Ayasofya.

Hagia Sophia has a long, rich history. It once echoed with the voices of kings, scholars, and worshippers alike. Many years ago, a young Muslim leader named Sultan Muhammad al-Fatih entered the city of Constantinople with his army. They were kind and respectful, and one of the first things the Sultan did was walk into Hagia Sophia and pray two rak’ahs of shukr — a special prayer of gratitude to Allah.

From that moment on, Hagia Sophia became a masjid, a house of Allah, where people came to bow and remember their Creator.

When you look at this sejadah, you’ll notice the beautiful dome of the masjid, and the sea at the bottom. That sea is called the Bosphorus — a famous waterway in Istanbul, where ships sail between two continents: Asia and Europe.

This prayer mat isn’t just for praying — it’s for imagining, learning, and feeling proud of our amazing Ummah. Every time you colour it, and every time you sit and talk to Allah on it, remember: you are part of this story too.

“Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace.” (Surah Ar-Ra’d, 13:28)

So take your time. Colour gently. Pray sincerely. Dream big. Because one day, you might also leave behind something beautiful for the world — just like the ones before you.
